I love watching you young people get blown away by the music of our generation.

Harper Valley PTA and 9 to 5 are not just songs, they're anthems.

Britt, do you understand how satisfying it is to see young folks like you enjoying the music of my youth?

Somebody should parody this song and call it "Harper Valley HOA."   The HOA letter could be all about leaving the trash can out too long, a weed growing in the bush, an unauthorized potted plant outside the front door, a car parked in the street, and an unapproved shade of paint for the door.

I'll say it again. We boomers grew up with thee very best music on the planet. 60s 70s and 80s. It's the only station I still listen to today. WZLX Classic Rock!

It's a song about hypocrisy that put a lot of people in their place back in the day.

This song was written by an amazing story teller named Tom T. Hall.  You should check out "Old Dogs, Children, and Watermelon Wine" which is one of his biggest hits.

This song became a sensation, remaining popular for many years. Some ten years after it reached No 1 on the charts, a film was made based on the story, featuring Barbara Eden.

This song is from 1968 and it's very much on point to the times.  I got to see Jeannie C Riley perform this live in my teenage years when I was in high school.   It was great!

I have loved this song since I was a kid! When she calls them all out individually it gives me such pleasure having grown up in small town BS America.

I was 13, in junior high when this song came out.  I'll be 70 my next birthday.  This is one of those songs that will likely never go out of style, never be not-true. It was real back then and it's still real today because some people just can't mind their own business.

We need Ms. Riley now more than ever to tell off so many sanctimonious hippocrits that seem to pervade this era. Tell em Jeannie!!! What a great tell off in your face song.
