  you call it &quot;power ranger&quot; derogatorily but Sam Raimi is openly a tokusatsu fan. the design of gobs is very openly inspired by that, and his fighting style and even acting direction is HEAVILY influenced by toku. hell, gobs even does a Kamen Rider kick in the final fight.<br><br>i think the Eastern influence brought a really cool twist to gobs in an otherwise extremely American comic book movie.

  One thing I will say that I like about the fixed mouth on the Goblin mask is that it looks like one of those native masks we see on the walls in the Osborne home. Makes it seem like something Norman intentionally appropriated into the suit without understanding it’s meaning

  Tbh, the &quot;Power Ranger&quot; never bothered me. While I would&apos;ve LOVED the more comic book accurate design or especially the initial animatronic makeup mask, I can understand why they went with what they did.<br><br>I actually loved this look as a kid, as a teen I kinda hated it, but as an adult I&apos;ve gone back to defending it.

  I think the armored look for green goblin is good, the problem for me is that it&apos;s too green, I wish they had purple in the costume as well to balance it out, I like the unchanging mask he looks like a creepy gargoyle or something

  Spider-Man 1 will always be my favorite Spider-Man movie that final fight with green goblin is still the best superhero fight scene of all time

  Did anyone else notice that Mary Jane recognizes the kiss from Peter at the end? She notices how similar it is to her kiss with spider-man

  That fact that we still don&apos;t know how spider-man 2002 was originally going to end is crazy. People who built the sets said they spent months setting up the practical wire effects only for Sam Raimi to change his mind at the last second, and had spider-man fight Green Goblin in the ruins of a hospital instead. <br><br>The developers for the movie licenced video game read the script before making the game. They said they were glad they didn&apos;t follow the script&apos;s original ending because it was changed for the final film. <br><br>Bizarre.

  There&apos;s always something about the first Raimi film that is completely unmovable to me. I didn&apos;t even grow up with it, but the vibes it gives off, the story, characters, and the absolutely amazing soundtrack just make me feel nothing but awe and almost pride for some reason. No other Spider-Man media has the magic of the first film to me. It out of every Spider-Man film has moments that make me feel genuinely sad such as Ben&apos;s death, or genuinely excited such as the final swing. I honestly fail to be taken back by &quot;cheesiness&quot; (I don&apos;t really notice it anyway) or costume choices like Goblin&apos;s. This film is just so fucking cool and single handedly got me into Spider-Man himself.
