Quite sure that the joke at 11:00 is that Canny Tim got the "Died in the first volley" rep despite dying a hero, and Sir Dan got the hero rep despite dying in the first volley. Not a mistake, a joke. I don't think he lied to Dan because otherwise he'd not be in the Hall of Heroes.

This game does not get the credit it deserves - it's a masterpiece in the atmosphere and music. You've earned a subscriber!

One of the first 3 games i got as a kid back in 98. Medievil was such a banger, even my mom was playing it, and she wasn't even a gamer.

The reason the mayor wasn't cursed was because the curse turned the villagers into mindless murderers, And Zarok needed information on where to find the Shadow Demon artifact. Hard to get information when someone is only capable of drooling and swinging a meat cleaver.

I'm British and 90s born and played this as a child. Played the remaster too. This is up there as the best ps1 game ever along with Tomb Raider 2 and I've always felt Dark Souls was a spiritual successor or perhaps stealer of MediEvil as a whole. Loved watching this and you've got great sensw of humour to you haha

Sir Dan in the original at the battle of Gallowmere: more than likely he was deathly afraid. Made a speech that his rallied troops, was in the first charge and died in the first volley of arrows.
King Peregrin embellishes his tale and falsely claims he killed Zarok while maybe also believing Zarok may have actually been killed.
How everyone treats him: "Hah, Coward." "Arrow magnet." "Walking arrow/pin cushion." "False/Failed hero." "Died before he could swing his sword."

Sir Dan in Resurrection at the battle Gallowmere: stayed behind, pretended to tie his boots and got struck by a random stray arrow. Maybe Kardok did spot him and sniped him from afar.
King Peregrin and maybe some others actually psyops the kingdom into believing he was brave and died fighting valiantly.

I always preferred Resurrection specifically in the depiction of Dan and his character in that he was actually a coward who now needs become brave. Making fun of Dan for dying in the first arrow volley and calling him a coward is like saying the first soldier who dies in any war while performing their duty is a coward

1:17:00 I've talked to @NoobKillerRoof and @TheAstralMonarch about the reason, why the mayor wasn't effected by Zaroks spell. It might be because Zarok needed the mayor to be conscious, so he could pressure him to tell him where the Shadow Talisman was. But as we know, the mayor refused still.
