Falooda drink originated in Persia , brought to India by Persian merchants & Ruler Mughal empire, where it evolved & modified into the milky, rose-flavored drink basil seeds (sabja), during Mughal period , then later 19th century modified Version, eventually with kulfi or ice cream by Persian Indians & Indian Muslims which is popular today, spread to neighboring countries like Pakistan & Bangladesh, then brought to Sri lanka by some Bohra Muslim merchants(Indian Ethnic Group ) from India who settled in Sri lanka who also brought their Bohra cuisine(Samosas, kababs , Biryanis, Meat curries etc.).

Pitta Kottuwa does not mean " square" it means "outer fort " Pettah( Colombo 11) was outside the eastern gate of the Fort (Colombo 1) built by the Portuguese and the Dutch. Pitta Kottuwa meant outside the fortified city. (Pitta - outside; Kottuwa- fort). Its said that the actual fort made with stone was taken down by the British.

Sri Lanka is one of the unique countries in the world that different cultures, religions and traditions meet : Sri Lanka is a small island and yet it is rich in cultures and traditions: you can eat different food in Colombo: you can taste pure Vegetarian food , Muslim food, Sinhalese food and Malay food with different varies : but you can really taste these different spice food ??<br>What a wonderful country and yet , Sri Lanka needs to do a lot of attract tourists using these cultural differences and rich cultural: religious and cultural tourism is one of the area we have not yet explored:
