I grew up in the 60s & 70s, my teacher at junior school always said, "There is no such thing as American English. There is English and there is Wrong!"

as a british guy I don't care about spellings or pronunciations but when americans try to claim english as their own creation because they changed a few spellings and names it's just silly

In answer to the thumbnail: if Brits say it one way and Americans say it another, then yes: you are saying it wrong because the language is called "English" and not "American" 🤷🏻♂😅

When it comes to 'bald', the narrator is muddying the waters somewhat, due to his accent. The way he says it, bald and bold sound exactly the same, whereas typically bald is pronounced 'ball'd', and bold is more 'bowl'd'.
