  The fact that these companies got tax breaks for datacenter construction, have been subsidizing their energy costs and stole all their foundational data and STILL are not profitable shows you just how unprofitable this “business model” is.  It would be like if you broke into a museum to steal all the artwork but couldn’t sell it for more than your burglary equipment cost.  No amount of burglary fixes that sunken cost fallacy.

  Destructive scanning of rare books is an organised destruction of culture, history and the entire history of the human race. If you get books first and destroy them then your competitors lose out. If your fraudulent AI company with its model goes bankrupt then all the books are lost along with them forever. This needs highlighting.

  There is an episode of star trek voyager where they send the doctor away. In an attempt to recreate him they download the entire medical knowledge into a kopied vessel. All it could do was recite the books. Real Intelligence is more then just data. Over thirty years ago some people all ready understood this.

  That&apos;s what really blows me away about companies doubling down on Ai. I&apos;m not even talking about the hyper scalers, we know why they are, but the smaller companies... the audience doesn&apos;t want it.
