Great piece of lore here, the corruption of Medivh was indeed very well crafted.
What makes it special is that it was not fully coordinated by Sargeras, it was Medivh's own conclusion that Azeroth should be purged after witnessing the wars all around the world and has no chance against the Legion.
I assume from Karazhan books he learned the ultimate goal is to protect the world soul, and that all those warmongering creatures on the surface are just dust in the big game.
And it also makes sense from his pov knowing what happened to his own parents:
Tirisgarde on the hunt for his mother, his father was (almost) a traitor too if Aegwynn didnt explain her reasons to him, spies in his own tower...
But Sargeras obviously outplayed his plan to use the Legion's disciplined orcs to "prepare" Azeroth against.. the Legion?
Sargeras must've had a good laugh at that one!
Just like Arthas, it is "rotting heroism" - showing the true, noble nature of titan-created characters but with a twisted mind.
Also this part explains why orcs built a portal with human statues - the architect was Medivh!
And he is the 1st human to go to another planet, 1st to contact the orc race, and humble Gul'Dan in a duel!?
I wonder if the raven form he adopted was inspired by the Arakkoa he saw on Draenor?
Notice that he also uses a robe inspired in Arakkoan fashion, with feathers!
Really digging Medivh's vibe of this 'party at the tower' sorcerer that behind everyone's back supervises the construction of a demonic portal...
He is another gem of the classic warcraftian lore: fun and lore-dense.
Oh and of course Trolls get pwned yet again lol
Poor fellas, feeling like theyre punching bags for Blizz writers =)

Man, This is the BEST WoW lore channel on YouTube. It’s absolutely criminal that this channel isn’t bigger.

Now is the start of what I am familiar with lore of WoW.. These videos are so enlightening I understand now why Medivh did this betrayal, can't wait for the next for I am sure I will still learn many, many more about WoW... Instant thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻...
