  34 years ago, we invited the CEO of John Deere CEO to a FFA meeting.  He had a good speech.  In questions afterwards, one asked what was the one decision he would do over again.  He said, ‘the JD 4020, we made too easy for farmers to fix, and we sold lots of them.’.

  I never saw a Claas until last year.  It was being hauled on a large trailer.  Since then I have seen a lot of Claas combines.

  Many farmers out here in Northern CA. are totally dumping John Deere....  they are  sick of John Deere and the dealers are arrogant fools.  I would'nt touch a John Deere anymore...and it is sad because that is what I grew up with...but now... John Deere is garbage.. Plus the problem of working on them that they have taken away from all farmers...  J.D. is totally pathetic..

  Right to Repair and good access to parts and maintenance support alone would give Claas, Fendt or New Holland plenty of ex-Deere customers. Deere is infamous for hindering owners from working on their own machines.

  Once the operated works on a Class combine or the Fendt tractor he will feel more comfortable and will use less fuer and he will get more acres done in the same time. The operator and the boss will be happy.

  Uh, John Deere wasn’t the only combine running wheat before Claas. There was Gleaner, IH, Case IH, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, Oliver, Minneapolis Moline…..,

  Test weight, the weight of a bushel of wheat drops rapidly if standing wheat gets rained on after maturity, is critical.  If wheat drops below 54 pounds, from the target of 60, prices collapse.  Processors don't want it.  I assume they lose throughput.  Harvest timing is everything.😊
