Weather patterns in the leaves... Is the way us old ones know the weather.. So, for her to use that term is strange.

I expected a zombie story. But it was a survival story with a localized pandemic which did not involve zombies. I liked it, because for survival, we need all kinds of scenarios, not just zombie ones. New perspectives, new stories, new ideas. I'm looking forward to more

I have said it out loud. I am still saying it. People believe only after the damage has been done. By then...

really good story! Seriously, if I noticed so many people doing so many odd things in town, I would pack my vehicle and get the hell out of Dodge! This was not exactly a zombie story.

questions 1) First let me say that I am a retired environmental health and safety scientist. In addition to being an industrial hygienist and safety professional, I used to be an analytical chemist and apprentice sanitarian. What that all means, I have wide experience with things that injure or kill people. I always ask the question, Will this kill anyone? If the answer is yes or maybe, its important. So, I would ask Ren some questions then ask people I know at the state level. Ren would know this and probably ask me to find out what I could. I would get a whole lot of nothing, so I would say yes. She might even ask to come stay with me because she knows I believe in preparedness and can host 5 people in metro DC. You only lose a few days or a week. Or, could I help with preps and bring them to the cabin.
2) About Pastor Witt . . . .yes, she was right. I would have told her so. I would also ask her to take 5 tubes of blood so we could do a tox screen and CBC and used my contacts to have the analysis done. Chances are, the blood chemistry would be abnormal.
3) A little explanation. I am am naturally an intuitive thinker. I've lost count of the number of times I have walked into a meeting or work area and immediately noticed something wrong or someone's con. I am trained, as a scientist, to notice and observe. Both together, I just percieve things. Someone once told me that some people think they are so hot because they are 3 steps ahead of everyone else and I make everyone look stupid because I am 10 steps ahead. The 'three steppers' are particularly pissed off because I just have to be in the room or even catch a whiff of a conversation and shoot them down in flames. I have little tolerance for BS. In the USA, life is now based off BS to the extent that lawyers and judges and court orders are required to get neighbors to respect property lines and to get companies and their subcontractors to just do their jobs.

I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into sharing these stories with us. This AI voice is easily my favorite; it has such a calming quality that I could listen to it for hours. Peace.
