  I feel those who ask for a reboot are those who are tired of Marvel, either due to being burned out by projects, the fact that you need to subscribe on a streaming plateform to follow the MCU, or the sheer amount of stuff to see. On one hand that’s understandable, but a hard reboot is not gonna solve the issue.<br>A soft reboot that acts as a new start without sacrificing the MCU’s history is a much better approach yeah, continue some stories, but introduce new ones for a new generation of fans who weren’t there from the start. I mean the MCU will be 20 years old after Secret Wars, you can’t expect everyone to have seen all those projects instantly.<br>Also yeah, less projects per year would help and it already looks like they’re taking the criticism to heart.

  This is the only real time where we can get more versions of these characters. If the MCU keeps going on forever we’ll never see Captain America and Iron Man again and that’s just insane to me. Yeah the actors were great in their roles but there’s so much more we can see with these characters. We never got to see Steve fight a proper version of Zemo, or fight the Serpent Society or meet John Walker. Same with Tony most of his villains weren’t used like Crimson Dynamo and a proper version of the Mandarin. There’s not only one type of story you can do with Captain America and Iron Man. They’ve endured so long because of how much stories you can tell with them and yes I understand that you don’t want to see your favourite characters replaced with new actors with fresh new stories but Spider-Man has done it twice and Superman and Batman have done it countless times. Even James Bond has done it loads of times. I see no problem with rebooting the Avengers characters and keeping around the Fantastic Four and Daredevil and then incorporating the X-Men. I want to see Tony and Steve interact with these new characters like Reed and Scott Summers and it’d be a shame if we never got to see Steve Rogers or Tony Stark again.

  I’m legit convinced that anyone advocating for a hard reboot has this irrational belief that Marvel can’t function without their favorite 7 or 8 characters, as if there aren’t hundreds who won’t even get a chance on the big screen if we just focus on replacing the originals.<br><br>Edit: I’ll be honest, none of the replies so far have convinced me I’m wrong on this. Yes, there’s been tons of storylines for Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, etc. that haven’t been adapted yet, there are tons of potential interactions that would be writing gold, and there’s a chance I’d enjoy seeing them. But the problem is, as much as I’d like that, I also think the stories they’ve made in the MCU are complete enough that I don’t want to sacrifice that finality to quench my thirst for fanservice, “status quo immortality” be damned. I’m not against soft rebooting to incorporate X-Men and F4 on principle, but don’t act like we haven’t already seen their stories play out multiple times already. There are many other characters that deserve the spotlight as well, and I’d rather see them get their chance over dragging the older heroes back up to the front just because some people want them reinvented over and over again.

  I feel the best way to handle the MCU post Secret Wars is to have every superhero and team established in some capacity (with some being newer to the hero scene than others), skip the origin stories for characters we&apos;ve already seen in live-action (but give origin stories for characters who haven&apos;t been introduced before, like Nova), recast if necessary and have a Marvel universe that&apos;s already in full swing and to hit the ground running. Basically do what the situation in the comics is.
