The scene of Fabrizio’s murder was cur out of the second film. He was found in the United States and killed with a car bomb.

Here's one.... The radio broadcast that can be heard at the toll booth right before Santino is killed is from 1951, it's from October 3, 1951, more commonly dubbed as "The Shot Heard Round the World" when Bobby Thompson of the New York Giants hit a walk-off home run against the Brooklyn Dodgers to send them to the World Series. It's believed that Santino died in 1948, which jsut further proves that nothing adds up or follows the same timeline. However, all that aside, it's an amazing movie.

I always thought the discrepancies in Vito's DOB was due to the same reason he had the surname Corleone.

There is more than one timeline issue with part 2. At the senate hearings, the date for the baptism killings is stated as 1950, but they happen after Vito's death which was 1955. Also, in the senate hearings, they state the year that Sollozzo and McCluskey were killed as 1947, but in the first film Tom says that it's 1945 (nearly 1946) around the time of the murders. So, it's not just Vito's birthdate that is confused...

I agree that the Vito flashbacks were confusing. I always thought they should have been expanded and made into a separate movie.
