All you need to know is that Keith Moon was the inspiration for Animal on the muppets. That should tell you about the energy and attitude of the band.

John Entwhistle was like a dad watching his kids on the playground, waiting to see which one fell headfirst off the monkeybars first.

The "h" in Townshend is the only thing about the man that's silent.

I'm 72. I listened to this album on 8-tracks in my car as a high schooler! At the time I thought teen age wasteland was about Viet Nam. I had a draft lottery number when I was a senior in high school. Fortunately the draft ended before my number was called. I would have served if called. And I would been a terrible soldier because I could never shoot someone. I wasn't affected by the drug culture. I grew up in a small town and the drug of choice with my companions was beer! I really appreciate what these kids are doing to shine a light on the old songs and culture!

The Who must be enjoyed both ways: visually, with the live performance.... and audibly, with the studio performance.

This was the theme song for the NCAA championship football game between Indiana and Miami on ESPN. They played it repeatedly throughout the game. Occasionally, they threw in Won't Get Fooled Again.

Fun Fact: All of the CSI shows used The Who songs as their intro/theme songs. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (Las Vegas): "Who Are You". CSI: Miami: "Won't Get Fooled Again". CSI: NY: "Baba O'Riley". CSI: Cyber: "I Can See for Miles". CSI: Vegas (2021): "Who Are You". A whole generation was introduced to their music because of these TV shows.
