  For the sinking corner, try to find a structural engineer to write a report. I’m an engineer and am asked to do this often, that will get someone to your house to diagnose the problem (if there is one, lots of times there aren’t any structural issues!) and then offer potential solutions. The key is to get an engineer to do this, they won’t try to upsell you (or scare you about it being necessary) because they can’t make more money once they give you the report! If you get a contractor (or worse - a foundation contractor) to look at it, you run the risk of them making a bigger deal than it may be because the bigger the “problem” the bigger their paycheck.<br><br>It may be hard to find a local engineer to do that for you, and if you have issues, try calling local residential architects and ask them what engineers they tend to work with. Good luck!
