  My fav. Sukiyaki hands down I was 12 and at for my 70 birthday I managed to find a music box that played it. Still my favourite

  This song came out when I was a sophomore in high school (15 years years old).  It stirred my emotions, for I heard extreme pride in it. By the time I graduated from high school two years later (1967) the war in Vietnam was at it peak, so along with a group of classmates I immediately joined the US Marine Corps, and we all found ourselves in Vietnam within six months.  Thirteen months later most of us came home alive but changed forever.  I’ll never stop missing those of our classmates who did not make it home.

  I am white 75 disabled Vietnam Veteran I grew up in "East St. Louis" and "St. Louis".  You have left a lot of the great soul music of my time off here. I married a black woman at 20 she was 18. 3 children and 8 grand-children. Still together. I wished that people would say when they uploaded these lists that this is my personal list.

  What Sukiaki's title means in English is, "When I walk, I hold my head up high". Simply one of the greatest songs of all time.
