I am very angry about NEVER having had any physician ask about or educate me on pelvic prolapse issues! This topic should be addressed routinely by physicians & nurse practitioners at every pap smear & every obstetric & post partum visit. Family practitioners who care for older women should also be asking if they have these issues. For the majority of women, pelvic, urinary & rectal issues are embarrassing & isolating. Most women know nothing about what's happening to them & live in fear that their symptoms are life threatening. If women were forewarned & educated about pelvic prolapse, it would go a long way in alleviating the fear & anxiety. Please don't let embarrassment keep you from seeing a urogynecologist about your pelvic prolapse issues.

I had a rectal prolapse. I had surgery and I followed the surgeon’s aftercare instructions perfectly!<br>The results were remarkable!!!

I had vaginal and rectal prolapse… surgery did not help!! Within 3 days it felt no better than before!! I was devastated as I was a waitress and a single mom!! Make a long story short… a pessary ring saved me ! I got the smallest one and 13 years later it is still working!!! I am 70!!!😀👍

Be very careful about doing too many Kegel exercises. There’s a female doctor on here that says most women that come to her office are too tight and doing Kegels only makes the problem worse.

I'm surprised with all these modern medical technology ,doctors cannot fix a prolapse ,so many women suffering with this problem and there's no remedy for it.doctors can replace a new heart ,they can clone a sheep ,but can't fix a prolapse,no wonder there r so many broken marriages, husband's and wives cannot satisfy each other,😮😮

I had a prolapse and rectocele. The surgeon told me the rectal surgery was not always effective. I opted to wear a pessary instead of surgery for both. I used it for over a decade while I was working full time on my feet. After I quit working full time, it wasn't such a problem so I quit wearing the pessary. I'm 76 and retired now and it only bothers me when I'm bloated or constipated.

I wish you were my doctor. I had 8 babies. The last two were over 10 lbs. I have been neglecting myself for years due to embarrassment of prolapse. But now I am 59 , post menopausal and miserable with painful intercourse, bowel issues, and up all night peeing. So much pressure and backache. Just misery! Thank you for this information

My poor 91 yo mother suffered so much from this which wasn’t DX’d until right before hospice. It tore my heart out watching her suffer.
