A prank would be pretending the save file was deleted by swapping it with a different Switch or something, and revealing afterwards that the save file was fine. Actually deleting the save without some kind of back-up is intentional bullying.

For the mom, let me quote Karen from GSC snd HGSS: "STRONG POKÉMON, WEAK POKÉMON. THAT IS ONLY THE SELFISH PERCEPTION OF PEOPLE. TRULY SKILLED TRAINERS SHOULD WIN WITH THEIR FAVORITES." AND SHE DID

r/AmITheAbsol needs to be an actual subreddit where people post their pokémon situation stories like that!

A prank is harmless and retrospectively enjoyable.
A joke is harmless and enjoyable in the moment.
Cruelty is not enjoyable

Absol kinda brings a new twist to the saying
Absol is a misunderstood omen, so being the Absol of a situation would mean everyone sees you as the one that caused problems when you were just trying to warn them about it

That 15 year old (who is 18 now based on the comments) better already be looking back on that day of Pokemon battles with his mom and friends as a core and cherished memory. Like what a fun and funny story to have, and what a beautiful memory to have with your mom.

First story : If someone need to specify "it's just a prank" it's means it is not a just a prank.

That first one is exactly why I hate April Fools day. There’s a saying that is really imperative to that situation: It’s not a funny joke if the one telling it is the only one laughing.

For the Pokémon wedding, I can see them having an Easter egg or two thrown in for each of their interests, but keep the majority based on the couple.
At my wedding, we walked down the isle to an orchestral version of Goldenrod City, it fit the wedding vibe and was a subtle nod to Pokémon

First story, guy is 150% justified in ghosting that guy. He has no respect for boundaries or other people's time.
