  The teaching a kid to read bit is a reference to a thing libraries do where they bring in well-trained, calm dogs for the kids to read to. It's less of a the dog teaches and more of a the dog helps practice.

  Dogs teach kids to read in specific programs where the kids reads aloud to the dog to build confidence, I'm imagining it being the same way in the service Pokemon post
