  My boyfriend once told me that in Thailand, whenever filmmakers want to shoot a horror movie in a haunted place, they first perform a ritual to thank the spirits and ask for their permission. It is very fascinating and I think respectful. But I think leave those places alone. They need to stay alone for a reason.

  They’re in Cambodia .... they should be doing a Cambodian ritual. Like, dang… those ghosts probably don’t even understand Korean. How would they know that ritual was meant for them? 😭

  Back in Taiwan, I lived in a big house that was previously owned by my grandparents before they moved. it was my childhood home and me and my siblings and even my mother grew up there. My grandparents eventually moved out and the years following that I’ve been terrified of the hallway downstairs to the right that leads to my grandpas old room, it was almost like an uncontrollable fear and sense of something looking over me right behind my back. The rest of the house was fine it was just that one hallway. I kept it to myself bc my mom just dismissed it as an irrational fear. She wasn’t scared of it, nor was my dad or grandparents or any adult figure that comes. The only time that I felt nothing at all in that hallway was when my grandpa comes over, weirdly enough I felt nothing pressing on my back no sense of terror, But the second he leaves it’s back again. No other person can make me not fear that one dark hallway. Years passed of me completely avoiding that hallway, and one day I asked my little brother to go grab something in my grandpas old room, since I was too scared to go. My little brother said no firmly, and when I asked why he just said I’m scared to go there. I was shocked because I’ve never told anyone other than my mom that I was scared of it, when I asked why he just said: I feel like there is smth always behind me and it’s terrifying to turn around but I don’t like leaving my back vulnerable ether. For years he’s been scared of it and we never told each other, He’s also said the same thing about it being completely fine but only when my grandpa comes over. That’s when we started to wonder who else feels like this? So we asked around and all the parents say we had a vivid imagination. But when we asked our youngest brother he has the exacts same answer as us, and so did my older sister. Yet for years we never told each other believing it was just in our minds. That hallway felt dark, it felt wrong, and the lights mysteriously breaks. Several times in the past out of instinct we still flip the light switch and it occasionally turns on while flickering the whole time. I eventually moved to America and we sold the house, that was when my little brother called me from Taiwan and said:you remember that hallway we were scared of ? Well I found out something’s from our grandpas brother, he said that long time ago when my grandpa was born my great grandmother brought him to a shaman to name (this was a very common thing in Taiwanese culture to give your child a name that brings luck to them specially) the shaman took one look at my grandpa and said he was born at a very peculiar time and date and year, and he was born to be a protector. He had a light around him that will protect him and everyone around him from bad intentions and malicious spirits. When I hear that it all made sense, every time he was there we felt nothing in the hallway. He was indeed a protector for us also in the sense of how he took care of us, back when we were children and when we were adults. He has a light that even we can see and everyone he meets respected and liked him. That’s my story and thanks for taking the time to read this if you got this far.

  Bokor Place should be a shine or monument to respect the people that have died there. Turning it into some fancy resort is just an affront and ignoring the past that have happened....

  I am Cambodian, and I am surprised there’s such a great movie taken at the most haunted place in Cambodia. It’s so haunted that the local government constructed a Lok Yeay Mao Statue Landmark on top of the mountain which believe to protect those visiting the mountain. Locals even those who don’t beleive in spiritual things also respect and pray at that landmark for good luck and fortune before going to any places on the mountain.

  These haunted places shouldn&apos;t be disturbed, and I&apos;m sure the filming crew was tainted by darkness.

  the fact that that&apos;s basically a burial ground yet people still fixed it to go have vacations at. feel sorry for the victims who built that building

  Reminds me of how the original Poltergeist movie used real human remains in one scene because it was the cheaper option than using convincing fakes back then. Didn’t the original PotC ride at Disney do something similar at one point? Or the people trying to film on a train track without official permission. There are certain lines you don’t want to cross for the sake of entertainment, because you’re inviting trouble.

  Imagine vacationing in the same place thousands of people were brutally tortured and killed. You have to be a special type of person to be able to have that level of cognitive dissonance.

  I&apos;m Cambodian, so for that old casino building is not renovated, it is still there. The new casino is built nearby name &quot;Thansour Bokor Resort and Casino&quot;. For that old curse casino building it is haunted and curse even local people. A Cambodian girl story, she picked something there, I think it was arrow head, then take it home. She had meet a lot of unfortunate event, it is only when she returned it back and ask for forgiveness.
