  I first started collecting about 5 months ago. I went to Walmart and found tons and tons of pokémon 151 and I had no idea how difficult they would be to find retail. I bought like three mini tins with two packs each and I have never found 151 for retail price again. I always wish that I had bought more

  Coming from a background of playing Magic, another good tip would be to buy singles. If there’s only a couple cards you want (especially for playing) from a specific set, buying the cards directly is way more affordable, quick, and easy than buying packs; packs are fun but  often have less value than the cost of the pack and it’s unlikely to find the specific cards you’re looking for.

  Great video! I started collecting two months ago and as soon as I learned about Japanese cards, I instantly switched over. As someone who is only interested in collecting and not investing, its still crazy to me that Japanese cards look so much cooler and are usually cheaper than their English counterparts. Keep up the great work!

  Got a recent goal to master set stellar crown. I’m a mad penny pincher so I got my etb for 38 off target. Then my local card store had a Black Friday deal for a booster box of stellar crown, and I took it. Thought it was expensive, but little did I know that $100 for a booster box was an absolutely ludicrous deal. Now I’m never buying a booster box for over $130 during its retail life cycle in my life

  I remember going into freakin dollar tree as a kid and getting some sun and moon packs. Now you go to the biggest stores that are “selling pokemon cards” and there ain’t nothing there

  Great video, no bs this completely changed my perspective. <br><br>I recently got back into Pokemon, started collecting, started playing the TCG etc. but Prismatic caused me to get a bit too lost in the sauce, hunting down and preordering when it pops in stock, pure FOMO and I don’t even like the Eeveelutions besides Leafeon.<br><br>When I started I had the right idea, collect a different language, save some money, collect only my favorite Pokemon, arts and BUY SINGLES.<br><br>Journey Together I ordered a lot of because I love trainers with their Pokemon, that’s my jam but Prismatic for me, I was planning to rip some and hold the rest while it dusts away locking up money that can be used now on stuff I enjoy or getting Journey Together, a set I’m actually interested in.<br><br>Overall, mostly skipping Prismatic, readjusting now while I’m early in to actually enjoy Pokemon and not sink into the get rich quick FOMO.

  I got 6 EX Ruby and Sapphire packs in Spanish for like $15 each a few years back and pulled a real gen 3 Mewtwo ex for cheap. In like 2020. The packs look like they go for about $30 now but that&apos;s still a 10th of the price of English ones.<br><br>So buying in other languages is not just something you can do with recent sets. It&apos;s really fun. Highly recommend.
