  Just for the hot water heater -- it can EASILY add up to 2.5k to 5k (including labor &amp; depending on the type of water heater; hybrid, natural gas, propane, &nbsp;with or without a tank, etc..)<br><br>And people should ALWAYS ask for receipts and/or itemized list of supplies &amp; work completed..

  Just fyi.. <br><br>Some aspects of plumbing are pretty easy to learn.. <br><br>If you&apos;re a homeowner -- I highly encourage people to learn (at least) &nbsp;the basics..

  I&apos;m gonna assume they didn&apos;t get a permit to install that hot water heater... <br>(Most jurisdictions REQUIRE a permit for that work so that the city inspector can approve it)

  This plumber needs to lose his license. He should&apos;ve gone out there to determine what all needed to be done before giving a quote. &nbsp;He got lazy, gave her a low quote to get the job, got his inexperienced crew out there to do the job then tried to charge her for their shortfall. &nbsp;A plumber with integrity would&apos;ve taken this as a lesson learned and eat the extra cost then train his workers better. The guys he sent didn&apos;t even know basic code compliance.

(although it&apos;s not much in comparison to everything else.. but many places require a special pick up for those)

  Totally unprofessional, not using any of the industry standard language, he makes it sound like basic plumbing codes are a complete and total mystery or a surprise and has no idea why they exist, admitted to not having and not being able to acquire the correct parts to complete the jobs he agreed to do, doesn&apos;t have complete or accurate invoices of his work, and has obviously hired completely inept employees, which is what happens when you&apos;re incompetent and inept yourself. &nbsp;If it takes you three attempts to install and toilet and water heater, you need to rethink your choice of careers. Toilets and water heaters are two of the simplest and most basic plumbing jobs that can be done. &nbsp;Failing at these jobs is like an electrician failing at putting in a new light switch or a ceiling fan.

  Non- union plumber&apos;s hourly rate can EASILY be 100-150/ hour.. sometimes 75/ hour (especially if it&apos;s a non- union plumbing company.. but I&apos;ve seen many independent &quot;contractors&quot; charge on average of 100/ hour..)

  the pan is literally required &nbsp;and are max 50 bucks lol. the plumber should have stopped when they saw no pan. &nbsp;I just had mine done
