He killed both. There's no grand conspiracy here. Authors like Sherman make me sick.

If Nathan Carmen was any more of a psychopath he would have been a politician.

Nathan Carman is a killer. He shot his grandfather, purposely sabotaged his own boat to kill his mother and if he had a third rich relative, he would’ve murdered them too. Him being on the spectrum doesn’t give him a pass on heinous acts. He’s guilty and him taking the easy way out, while sucks from a justice standpoint point, at least this killer is burning in hell

He did it. It's obvious. He bought the type of gun that killed his grandfather, and it "disappears?"  Come on, either this guy murdered his grandfather and mother, or he's the unluckiest person in the world. Just look at him. He's an emotionless psychopath.

Whell…I’ll never need to worry about my family murdering me for my fortune…I’ll be working until 2:pm the day of my funeral, lol.

It's stupid to think Nathon would sink his own boat and take the HUGE chance that someone would find him in a little raft in the Atlantic ocean! Do you know how big the Atlantic is? It's a miracle he was found at all. Pretty stupid of the cops to try and pin it on him unless they were payed to by the aunts. The whole thing stinks!

I live in Middletown and remember this case very well.  I swear to you, they were bending over backwards to say Nathan couldn't have done these two crimes, because he has Aspberger's.  Even with all of the evidence...they kept making this case on local news that his Aspbergers would have prevented him from doing the crimes.  It was ridiculous.

It’s not often I judge by looks, this Nathan kid just seems so soulless and evil. Like there’s nothing behind those eyes.

Simply because someone is on the spectrum does not mean they are incapable of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. I suspect that he probably did kill his grandfather and sunk his boat with his mother in it, all for the sake of inheritance. The relatives who felt "left out" of their fair share are like all families who grow petty and angry and protective of what they think is their "due." A story as old as time.

I kind of despise the grandfather picking favourites and pitting the family against each other. He had more than enough to give a little to everyone.
