  In my humble opinion there will never ever be another band half as good as the LYNYRD SKYNYRD BAND.

  I&apos;m 70 years old. The first time I heard a song by Skynyrd was around 1974, specifically &quot;Sweet Home Alabama.&quot; I thought it was an alright song. Here in California, the radio stations hardly played Skynyrd at all. One time, a buddy of mine and I were going to a bowling tournament. While on the way, he pulls out an 8-track cassette. It was the Pronounced album, and it was entirely new for me. The songs were great, I was tapping my foot, and bobbing my head to all of them. Then Freebird came on. That was nine minutes of my life that changed me.<br>From that moment until right now, as I write this, Skynyrd has been and always will be my favorite band. I have seen Skynyrd many times, and I met Billy Powell and Leon Wilkeson (if I misspelled Leon&apos;s last name wrong, I apologize). Fantastic guys, both of them. They treated me as if we had known each other for years. Slowly, as they started dying off, one by one, I continued to feel the spirit of Skynyrd at the shows I had attended. One of my greatest joys was taking my two sons to see Skynyrd. Standing there with one on each side of me rocking out brought it full circle. When Gary Rossington passed, in my mind, that was the end of Lynyrd Skynyrd. I have the records and the memories, and they are not going anywhere.

  49 years that I&apos;ve listened to the original band each &amp; every day. As an OTR truckdriver,they have taken me many hundreds of thousands of miles and always with a smile.<br>RIP- to all those that sailed into the heavens like FREEBIRDS !!

  With the last surviving ORIGINAL member Gary Rossington passing away this past March - RIP Lynyrd Skynyrd and thank you all for incredible legendary music you gave the world.

  In November 1974 I went to the Free Trade Hall in Manchester England to see Dutch band Golden Earring. That night the support band were Lynyrd Skynyrd, and my life changed on that night. Since then no other band has had such an impact on me as Skynyrd had on that night and the music they gave to all of us. The tour was voted the best double header of 1974. Writing this with a tear in my eye remembering a pivotal night in my life. God bless you guys and thank-you for the music.😅

  The original Lynyrd Skynyrd lineup was the coolest looking band ever and the fact that they were all bonafide badass players made them the total package. Those dudes really were great.

  My dad wasn’t a great man and never became apart of my life but he taught me 2 things I’ll be forever grateful for..<br>1.He taught me to ride a bike<br>2.He introduced me to the greatest band in the world LYNYRD SKYNYRD👍🏻<br>RIP Dad

  I played the song &quot;I know a little &quot; for my young neighbor ( infant). He stood up for the first time and started swinging his arms. &nbsp;His mother started crying with joy. She used that song to teach him to walk.

  I&apos;ll never forget the day that a good high school buddy of mine who just bought the Lynyrd Skynyrd debut album, put it on his record player and a bunch of us high school friends listened to it in his room at his house-- we all were amazed and hooked immediately. &nbsp;And we were in the Northeast, not at all Southerners. &nbsp;For me it rivaled the time my cousin put on Led Zeppelin&apos;s first album for the first time. &nbsp;Incredible!
