  I was a teenager when Zeppelin were at their peak. What people don’t realize is all of their fame and fortune came from one thing: the music. Back then, there were no videos of them to see, not even many photos. no social media, no shameless self promotion like things are done now. There wasn’t even a picture of them on most of their albums. nothing but the music — it all happened because people like LISTENING to them. It was about the music, period. I miss those days

  No wonder their peers like The Who and The Rolling Stones hated them. Led Zeppelin were just on another level.

  my favorite Zeppelin story - my brother in his room, me in mine, 2 stereos and mom at work. We lived in a townhouse. He decided we should both drop the needle on each album, Rock and Roll at the same time, windows open so the neighbors got to hear lol. I miss him. He looked so much like Robert Plant, same hair, long skinny young man, long hair, long flared jeans and always full of good ideas.

  What strikes me most is the actual payment differences between today and then, not just record attendance, but ticket prices are unreal today, and how Ticketmaster has made billions off these events.  Now hundreds of dollars a show for some acts, its ridiculous how much it is now.

  At the end of the day, all four men were and are some of the greatest musicians in the world regardless of what they did or didn't do. And no one can argue with that!😊

  I saw them April 23, 1977, when I was 16 in the now gone Omni Coliseum, Atlanta, GA. Jimmy was well into his heroin addiction and was uncharacteristically more sloppy than his usual self. He had a fifth of Jack Daniels on Bonzo’s drum riser that he kept swigging on (and finished) throughout the concert. When they played Rock And Roll he was doing the Chuck Berry duck walk across the front lip of the stage and he fell over… Bouncers caught him and pushed him back up straight onto the stage… Jimmy never stopped playing… The crowd erupted! Even with his less than stellar performance, it was still GREAT seeing Zeppelin live. One of the most fondest memories of my youth!

  Saw them in Pittsburgh, Three Rivers Stadium in July1973. Unforgetably amazing! Timeless innovative talent.
