What to Pack for Egypt & Jordan | Viking River Cruise Packing List + Tips

We are heading to Egypt and Jordan for 15 days on a Viking River Cruise with a 4-day extension to Petra and beyond — and this is everything I’m packing! We’re traveling in February 2026, and temperatures range from the 80s in Egypt during the day to the 40s at night in Petra, Jordan, so layering was essential. In this video, I share exactly what I packed for warm daytime temple visits, cooler desert evenings, and everything in between — plus what I removed after “sleeping on it” so I didn’t overpack. In this video, I walk you through: • What to pack for Egypt • What to pack for Jordan • Viking River Cruise packing tips • Outfits for temples, desert heat, and long travel days • Shoes, accessories, and must-have travel essentials • How I pack (organization + luggage tips) I packed several days early so I could “sleep on it,” remove anything unnecessary, and make sure I wasn’t overpacking. I’m also sharing what I took OUT of my suitcase before we left — because that’s just as helpful! After the trip, I’ll be sharing a follow-up video covering: • What worked • What didn’t • What I wish I had packed • What I never wore • What we forgot If you’re planning a Viking Nile Cruise, a trip to Egypt, or visiting Jordan and Petra, this packing list will help you feel prepared and confident.
