Disabled OT who uses the Addi rocket squared. I LOVE them. The notches are such a great accessibility feature for people who want the speed of a metal needle, but need some extra support of the ridges so you aren’t dropping your stitches if your hands get weaker or you start having tremors, shaking or muscle issues. The square does decrease hand pain so much. They are truly amazing.

About 16 years ago, my granddaughter, then 2, was diagnosed with Leukaemia. The family spent many hours doing shifts in Vancouver Children's Hospital for months. As her chemo caused her to lose all her soft baby curls, I decided to knit her a bunch of fun hats. I bought the only interchangeable needle set Michaels had. And away I went! It looks exactly like, except for the case colour, the unbranded one you share. I haven't tried any other sets, but I have been pretty happy with this one, aside from it not having a nice short cable for socks and necks. I'm now thinking I would like to try something new though and am using your video to help me choose!
FYI..my granddaughter will be celebrating her 18th birthday come September! While she is cancer free and generally healthy and active, she did have some side effects. She began having petit mal seizures after her treatment and she functions at about a 7 year old level. She is a beautiful girl, very loving and happy. And we are eternally grateful for her still being with us. The seizures, after many years, have been completely controlled, as in she has not had one since, after she began getting CBD oil twice a day. Praise God!! Anyways, back to my knitting!

My new go-to needles are by a Canadian company called Kollage. They are square knitting needles; I splurged on an interchangeable set and they are awesome. Kollage creates local jobs for people facing barriers to traditional employment (including disabilities) and reinvest profits back into those programs. Their square needles are also designed to be more ergonomic, so you’re supporting both inclusive employment and accessible design when you buy from them.

Have used Chiaogoo for years. Paid for a half set as I don't use large needles. I've never had tips fall out as i don't unzip all three sides and hold it upside down. Never had a join come undone while knitting and the join is the smoothest I've found. Only thing i don't use them for is socks as i prefer wooden dpns.

The advantage of the Chiaogoo cable is that when knitting a project that starts out small you can use a longer cord from the beginning without it looping back on itself and getting in your way or coming up and bumping you on the chin.

I push my stitches and have punctured into my fingertips with sharper needles, so can vouch.

The single largest improvement I made to my knitting craft was when I finally invested in Chiaogoos. They are absolutely perfect for me. They are a tool and do not fight me in any way, unlike many other circulars I have tried. I understand the price concern, but if you can afford them, they are spectacular.

I gotta say, the KnitPro set you picked is a so-so choice. They have such a vast catalogue. Their Nova series are the smoothest and have sharper tips than Zing, and Mindful series are just excellent. Just as sharp as chiaogoo, smooth stainless steel, and the sets are thoughfully assembled, esp when it comes to the variety of the tips, and the cables are swivel and excellent as well.
Additionally, Hiya Hiya sharps are i think even sharper than the Addi sharps.
IDK, I'm a KnitPro girlie, mostly because of the universal cable system that fits so many different brands. I love that about it. It goes with KnitPros, ofc, but also: Knit Picks, Lykke, Drops ,and Lantern Moon, So therre's a lot to choose from!

I use Chaigoo. I have owned others in the past and Chaigoo are my favorite. I have never once thought of them as a status brand. (Signature Needles cost a whole lot more back when I bought Chaigoo) so that was an interesting point. Also as I do not knit with larger needles often, I bought a half set ($85 at the time I purchased). I will also add that I like that the case is without flaps. I just unzip only 2 sides, locate the needle I need and zip it back up... Happy Knitting yall! If you are interested in a certain set... Buy the tips and cable for your favorite size. You will not regret having an extra and you can test drive it.
