Kurt would HATE the Idea of AI making HIS music.

Kurt did this a lot in his demos...
He would come up with a song, play the guitar part all the way through, and just mumble the melody with gibberish and lyrics that he just came up with on the spot. His reasoning was he wanted to get the ideas for vocals and guitar recorded first, and then come back later with actual lyrics, and re-record the actual completed song.
When you're a songwriter, it gets pretty frustrating when you forget a song, so the best most reliable way to remember it is to get the idea recorded even if it's incomplete. You'll never lose the idea of the song if you have it's genesis on record.

From what I’ve heard of guitar-only demos by Kurt, he never sang this rough without the band behind him. He had a softer voice when he played stuff like You Know You’re Right and Penny Royal Tea with just a guitar, and the guitar part on this recording doesn’t sound like rhythm guitar but rather a part that would be played over the rest of the band.

Thus, based on the existing demos he made, it’s either from a studio session but isolated from the band, it’s a different jam style demo than he ever did before, or it's fake.

According to the Live Nirvana Concert Chronology, there is a rumoured soundboard recording of the Nov 23 Ghent show. It's possible that "fredrick" had access to that in order to create a convincing sounding studio fake.

I’m obsessed with Talk To Me. I wish we could’ve gotten a full studio version I think it would’ve kept Nirvana in the spotlight.

I used to buy bootleg records in the 90s. There was a series of Nirvana live recordings called Outcesticide. "Talk to me" was on It
There were a bunch of great songs they played live but were never on a record

i would say that this recording is real taking the point that he posted the recording on 2023 and the AI tools back then were bad

I lean towards this snippet being real. If it’s fake, it could be someone dubbing their own voice with a Kurt Cobain AI model, but everything seems to point to this being a real snippet from the March 25 1994 Basement session with Pat Smear, post intervention. This would make it the final recording of Kurt Cobain, after the Do Re Mi demo, less than two weeks before his death.

OH MY GOD RAREST NIRVANA YOU DID IT! DUDE YOU MADE A VIDEO ON THIS!?!??! I have genuinely been wanting a video from you ever since I started my investigation on this two years ago.. I think you may have even used my comment to help with your investigation due to most of this being similar to what I did.. BUT mine was just a COMMENT! YOU MADE IT INTO MEDIA! Thank you rarestnirvana, oh my god thank you! That was genius to try moving the syllables as even I didn't go that indepth during my tests- I guess even with both our investigations it remains.. It could be real, it could be fake.. I still lean toward real ofc- just.. THANK YOU FOR GIVING YOUR THOUGHT ON THIS!
