  This is spot on. My parents were never held accountable for abusing me physically, verbally, and financially. No way in hell I would ever let them have access to my children, even supervised.

  Giving these grandparents access rights gives them an opportunity to lob a grenade into the child’s family. Creating toxicity and tensions between the parents, which will hurt that family unit and, by ricochet, the child they claim to love.<br><br>In a lot of these cases, there’s a lot of entitlement and very little, or no recognition of any wrongdoing from the grandparents.

  No contact with my entire MAGA family for 2.5 years now. They weren&apos;t and aren&apos;t safe for my child. Luckily, they just abandoned us, so I don&apos;t have to deal with that nonsense.

  I know I saw that. All I could think was there is a reason her daughter cut her off.. I feel like people don’t realize that just because you’re related doesn’t mean you have an automatic right to a relatives time or a right to grand kids.

  Hawk, thank you for working with families, even though you didn&apos;t like it. &nbsp;I was horribly abused throughout my childhood by my stepfather, negligence from my mom, and completely rejected by my dad. &nbsp;The abuse was verbal, sexual, financial, and physical. &nbsp;I never left my kids with my abusive parents. &nbsp;When my kids were little, I moved almost 2,000 miles away to get away from them all. &nbsp;Thankfully, my mom and stepdad died many years ago and years ago my dad made it clear he didn&apos;t want to have any contact with me or my children. &nbsp;I am a progressive and my stepmom liked to tell me that it&apos;s people like me is what&apos;s wrong with the country. &nbsp;I&apos;m an amazing woman, educated, and a teacher for the blind. &nbsp;My kids are brilliant, funny, crazy, and wonderful. &nbsp;The boomers in my life are losers or dead. &nbsp;It&apos;s a gift to be free from being sandwiched between generations.
