  I first watched the movie when I was single. Loved it. For me it was an amazingly creative movie about dreams.<br>I recently watched it again as a father of 2 kids and wept like a child. I related so much to a man fighting hard to see his kids again.

  I think the emotional aspect added to the script after Leo came in, is what made Inception such a success. Tenet on the other hand, as much as love it, was missing that, especially in the last act.

  As someone who lives in Hollywood and has many friends in the film industry (I&apos;m not in it myself, but wife is), I can tell you the real reason there are so many sequels and adaptations. <br><br>Viewers don&apos;t show up for original works as consistently as they do for sequels and adaptations. Simple as that. People complain constantly about sequels and everyone says they want original scripts, but then time and time again the sequels get packed theaters and original scripts do not, even at the same budget. People vote with their dollars and at scale they vote for sequels and adaptations in practice even if they verbally suggest otherwise. <br><br>The cost barrier to entry in a novel or comic book is lower than it is for film, so you can test out a concept at low cost before moving it to a high cost medium.<br><br>Anyway, Nolan is currently making a film about one of the oldest stories ever written so I guess we&apos;ve come full circle now.

  Inception is based heavily off of Paprika, which came out 4 years before inception

  Nolan should direct *The Martian*. They’d send Damon to a real planet on a real rocket to avoid CGI.
