He was—and still is—incredibly famous. In his day, there was no internet for listening to music or chatting—technologies that allow messages and the like to be shared instantly. His manager prevented him from leaving America. He is the greatest of all time: a warm voice, charisma, beautiful songs, generosity, and a mastery of some six different musical styles. He played guitar and piano and was a fantastic dancer—not to mention his entertaining movies and his good looks.
