Francis McDrmand was so adorable in this role. Deserved every bit of that Oscar for this.

I love this movie didn't have the lady cop be the strong, perfect woman with an idiot for a husband. It showed a loving supportive marriage.

In a film full of despicable criminals, slimy businessmen and murders, Margie is a gem of honesty and kindness. She's kooky, kindhearted, and very endearing, yet she doesn't suffer fools gladly and is sharp as a tack. Frances McDormand played the part so well.

The thing that’s never said out loud is the fact that Margie was the bigger, or at least more consistent, breadwinner in the family. But she loves and respects her husband, his passion for art, and the value of his paintings so much, that she’s completely supportive of his endeavors, even if it means their relationship doesn’t match the norm. And his recognition and appreciation of that is evident as well. ❤

I worked front desk in Deer Valley during Sundance. Had the pleasure of checking Frances and Joan Cusack in. They were so sweet. So easy to help.

This was the first film I saw McDormand in. Since then I’ve seen her in several movies. She is absolutely the best American actor I’ve ever seen. Brilliant!

Having been born and raised in Minnesota, I had people from up in the NoDak/Canada/Mn corner.  They absolutely talk like this.  Also genuine are the flat, foggy, lonely road scenes.
