I’m Dutch and when you want a gun, by law you have to join a certified shooting range and after a year you’re allowed to buy and own one small caliber pistol. So basically only a .22. After another year you can buy big caliber handguns and after the 3rd year you can buy rifles in any caliber that’s used for shooting sports. Since I’m almost at that first year and with that limitation you can imagine that I want to spend my money wisely. This video really helped, I’ve narrowed it down to a handful of guns and most of them are featured in this video.

Got my 22X last week. Went to the range and literally the 1st 3 rounds were stove pipes. 4th and on fired off perfect.
Going back to shoot another 120 rounds.
Most def a 22LR fan here as 98% of my shooting is 22LR because its cheap and easy.

I am planning to buy one of the new S&W 22X. I bought, a Taurus TX22 as soon as they came out. It had a fantastic rebate! It ate all types of ammo the first time I shot it. It was not accurate, it was a keyholer queen. After firing a little over hundred rounds through it, I took it home and cleaned it. The barrel looked like a sewer pipe. Half way down the barrel, there was no rifling. A friend of mine, who bought one after I did, had the same problem along with others who had same trash barrel. Apparently the mandrel that the barrel manufacture used to do the hammer forging was defective. They had no QC. My pistol was made in Miami, not in Georgia. Taurus kept quite and denied they had a problem. Finally you had to call customer service in Georgia to get on the list to get a new barrel. It took over a year to get another barrel. The CS lady had no idea when they would ship new barrels. They had to find another company to make the barrel. Now they are made in house. Taurus CS sucks. I expect this reply will be deleted. and I will be not able to post again.

I own a S&W 22 mag so when the 22X came out I got one because it is very similar to the 22 mag but ammo is much cheaper. So I can shoot a lot more when I go to the range. I like both guns very much. I especially like their triggers. I have also shot my son's Rueger Mark IV lite. So I can compare the two. Both are very nice.

Can’t help you guys with the Taurus TX22. I own three and they are all incredibly accurate. Thanks to your video I’m sure I’ll be adding the S&W soon.

Two days after the S&W 22X was announced, I was out at the range with my S&W 22 compact, which I've had for over five years. It had its first failure to extract and failure to feed multiple times that day. Went home and deep-cleaned it then headed back out and had the same issues. Took it as a sign and last week had a 22X setback for me. Went out to the range a few days ago and the 22 compact shot flawlessly. Still picking up the 22X. The 2 downsides of the compact were the fulcrum trigger and lack of optic cut. 22X fixes that.

The Ruger Mark IV guns are outstanding. Yes, you will pay some money. The gun should last forever.

That Taurus seemed to be throwing some keyholes down range. One correction to your descriptions, the Ruger Target doesn't have the same grip angle as a 1911. The 22/45 has the same 1911 angle.

Colt 1911-22 made by Walther and a PPQ M2 also made by Walther both shoot better with iron sights than my Taurus TX22 compact with a red dot. Each Walther gun cost me less than $250 each brand new.
