  I spent the year 1974 in Greenland at Sondrestrom Air Base ( now called Kangerlussuaq) while in the USAF. I also got to fly on a Twin Otter ski equipped aircraft to the East Coast to a dirt runway called Angmagssalik on a supply flight to one of the DYE sites (early warning radar). Mid flight we landed on the Greenland Ice Cap at another DYE site. Amazing just how remote that location is in the world. Sondrestrom used to be the primary point for weekly flights from Denmark but it now looks like access to Greenland has greatly improved. This video still brings back memories of my time in Greenland. Thanks

  You did a GREAT JOB @WorldWide Dom on this video on Air Greenland’s first flight into NUUK because it is VERY EXCITING because it opens up more possibilities for people to visit Greenland from different parts of the world. You also look good in this video and I DO LOVE A330neo’s and they look QUITE GOOD. Thank YOU SO MUCH for sharing this experience with the rest of us and I wish the airport of NUUK the best of luck expanding their operations there. I heard that because of this expansion, Air Greenland will be leasing two 737-800’s form the first time. So, they will have one A330neo, Dash-8’s, and 2 737-800’s next year in 2025.

  Lovely & sincerely emotional, video! Love your videos. Especially this one and the Global A380 experience with Noel, Josh, Swiss001 etc. In a way, i were, an year and a half, too early. I was in Nuuk, June 2023 visitting, my 2 brothers and our family, whilst the runway, approach light gantry and the new terminal, were well under construction. I flew with a Boeing 737-800 operated, by Jettime from Billund (DK) via Kangerlussuaq. 'Marooned', 3 whole days in Kangerlussuaq, due to nearly freezing rain and strong, crosswind gusts, in Nuuk. The second day, we'd left Kanger',  I'd experience my very first, go-around approx. a merely 600 ft over the Nuuk runway, causing a massive, collectively SIGH! in the cabin, as we abruptly climbed and turned back, to Kanger'. Luckily, Air Greenland paid hotel and 3 meals, a day. AND luckily, I'd spend 3 days in Kanger', with my brand new friend and seatmate, from Billund to Kanger'. We'd hooke up, with my old classmate/childhood friend, from Qaqortoq (South Greenland) roaring around Kangerlussuaq and drove the 15 miles, to the ice sheet in his heavily pimped, open Jeep! At day 3, I'd arrive on a beautiful, sunny day in Nuuk. What an adventure...what a story!

  … just watched your channel for the very first time … love your absolute enthusiasm, so refreshing … also so nice to see a Scot (from the north of the British Isles) venturing across the wonderful icey north Atlantic to Greenland on a beautiful A330 Neo … instantly subscribed👍

  I've watched the Dash-8s landing at Nuuk for the last couple of years through the webcams.   Great that the capital now has direct international flights.   Enjoyable video, Dom.
