  I watched the interview with Brooke and her ex-husband first, and wow, the transformation in her confidence and light is truly amazing! All the love to Brooke, she’s incredible ❤

  I will NEVER shut up about what a value add Margi is on this show. I’d never heard the raft story and I had to pause the show to cry at what that story awakened. Thank you Margi!

  The best line, "I'm not raising kids, I'm raising adults." This sentiment is how I think about raising my kid. When he needs to think something through I ask him questions to get to the answer and guide him through the thinking process.

  This was such an eye opening podcast for me. I broke into sobs when Margi said in the church you have value and are more worthy if you don't have needs. This is exactly the message I got as a woman in the church. It hit me so hard!! I have never heard it expressed so clearly before. I suffered debilitating illnesses while in the church and had a hard time asking for help and saying no to callings. I would fail over and over and finally leaders would release me. My husband even asked to be released from High Council because of my needs. I felt so much shame and guilt over it. They wouldn't release him for months, so he just stopped serving and they had to release him. Another time I finally said no to a calling, through tears and the response I got was to think about it. I am so glad we are out. Ironically, my health is improved after leaving.

  In 2013 when I was just seeing the hidden sign of Mormonism, I came across Mormon Stories and it was the episodes with the McLays.  They really spoke to me.  I could identify them as just like the other good Mormons who I saw in the pews every Sunday.  They weren't heretics, but believing members who were struggling with the things they were learning.  Watching them gave me the courage to consider seeking out the truth of the religion.  I left within the year.  It is enlightening to see where Brooke has been in these past years and how she has grown and what she has overcome.  I admire her greatly, and thank John and Margi for having her on again.

  I watched the original interview knowing that present-day Brooke was to follow. After the first, I didn't expect much, to be honest. Brooke was lively and engaged in 2012 but so much the handmaiden that I couldn't imagine her taking a new 'out' shape. Wow, was I wrong. Her evolution - and her insight into all its steps - is fascinating and inspiring. Such courage and openness. She's taken every corner of her existence and shaken the dust and dirt off to see what's what. It's so darn hopeful that she's ended up positive and hopeful and full of humour and kindliness. Excellently and generously led discussion, Margi and John. Brooke, shine on - your story is astonishing.

  Far too often, we hear of the marriages that fail due to one leaving the church. We don't often think about the couples who leave the church together and and still get divorced. It makes sense this happens, though. You get out of it and once you catch your breath your realize, not only do you not know who your spouse is, you don't even know who you are. It doesn’t help that so many Mormon couples rush in to marriage. They marry someone they barely know at a time in their life their barely know themselves.

  I wish for more episodes of bringing back former mormon stories guests. So many are so fresh out of mormonism and new examining their religion, their beliefs, their politics that they don&apos;t seem to have their feet under them yet. <br><br>Having watched John and Brooke&apos;s stories, I wouldn&apos;t have imagined this is where Brooke&apos;s journey would have taken her, and it&apos;s so interesting.
