The 10 Biggest UFC Champion Crashouts

So just to address a couple of comments, which I think bring up good questions:

#1. I covered a lot of the depression fighters faced following their big 'crashout' moments. For DC the rage of throwing the belts away, Rockhold, the post fight press conference blowup with Bisping, or Pettis firing his whole team minus a few key people like Duke Roufus, before admitting his own faults in the matter. The point was to show crashouts are merely the tip of the iceberg that we see as fans, but there are very real and complex emotions underneath all of that. I think it's actually admirable to watch how these fighters handled some of the worst moments of their life and in many cases overcame it, if not on a professional level, at least on a personal level.

#2. Some saying DC shouldn't be on the list because his reaction was justified. You can have justified crashouts. All crashout means is "to become suddenly, uncontrollably angry or distressed". For him that was the moment he got home and tried to throw out his titles. I totally feel where he was coming from and that's why I focused on what Jon did wrong, but also as I said in the entry how understandable his position was. Long time fans will remember my "sisyphus" video about DC after the overturned loss to Jones. DC's story is just super impressive to me. https://youtu.be/3zG2WyN7XLQ

I'm honestly really proud of this video and have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's responses so far. Thanks for watching the content and supporting the channel!
-Jason

Including DC at all is wild. Dude lost it because he was so confident he was the best, that when he lost, he couldn’t understand. Then, of course, it turned out Jones didn’t beat him fair. DC understandably had an insane emotional roller coaster ride

I have to say the rockhold rant on Ecuador vs mexico is legit. It's like being American and someone gives you a hockey stick because they think youre Canadien. The same with European countries

I'd like to give DC one big public apology for rooting against him when he was champ.

I've been there. Back in summer of 2010 I bought UFC gloves and my son and I would do it up in the basement. I'd get down on my knees to give him a chance so it was competitive. My reign as champ went on for months. Then, he won it back. But only because I had my 3 and a half yr old daughter playing ref and she stopped it WAY TOO EARLY. He was in my back and only struck me like 3 or 4 times and she called it. I got NO WARNING. No "show me something dad" or "gimme a thumbs up dad", nothing. And before I could protest, my son was already on the couch celebrating. But I was choked. Horrible stoppage. I started calling her "Maddie Mazzagatti" as her name's Madison. I didn't even eat dinner at the table that night. Ate by myself in the laundry room to protest. But nobody even cared. Then I had to look at my son strutting around with the gold like it WASN'T an early stoppage. I won it back the day of his 6th birthday with a nasty Guillotine. Sunk it right in and even Palharesed him and kept it locked in a couple of seconds longer than I should've just to make sure it was decisive.
Annnnd NEEWWWWW!!!

You know what I'm noticing here with this list? Anthony Pettis is the only person out of these ten fighters who actually went to therapy afterwards, and he arguably came out of this situation the healthiest and least broken out of everyone on this list.
