Greg I have been a listener for years now and always look forward to your uploads. As an Aviation and Engineering history enthusiast I never get tired of them. Keep fighting the good fight against AI slop.

Excellent video Greg. NACA did some amazing work. Just today at work I used data from three NACA reports dating back to the 40’s and 50’s, and that’s a very common occurrence. Happy holidays.

THANK YOU for this salute to NACA. When I was hired to work at Cessna's single airplane division engineering department, I set myself the goal to read every NACA report and tech note in the department's library. So impressive a bank of knowledge contained therein.

I agree that the best engineers are versatile. I know a retired mechanical engineer who worked on gas turbines for GE. He’s the guy I consult for oddball problems for anything from automobile engines to electronics. He’s also does pretty darn fine computer programming. I’ve never found any problem he can’t at least help with.

Great video. Thanks.

Excellent video. I’m a retired engineer who continues to carry copies of NACA reports on my iPad for casual reading. In my career, I’ve frequently relied on NACA reports for piston powerplant integration, cooling drag reduction concepts, heat transfer and piston engine performance enhancements. I’m always embarrassed when I think I’ve “discovered” something, only to find this was work originally carried out and expertly described in a 1940’s NACA report. I remain in awe of their excellent work and accomplishments.

What a cool video, nobody talks about NACA anymore! One of my great uncles cut his engineering teeth at NACA right at the tail end of the war, seeing it through the transition to NASA and stayed with the organization all the way to retirement in '81. He's one of the guys who worked on the turbo pump which went into the space shuttle program. He was a really cool dude and I he was here to talk to you about the various programs he was involved with in the 50s and 60s

Just subscribed because of this video. I worked at NASA Ames Research Center for a while in Rodent Research (we refurbished Transport and Habitat modules used to send mice to the ISS for research into the effects of microgravity on bone density and muscle mass loss). The photos in this episode are better and more extensive than any I've seen elsewhere, including displays at Ames! Looking forward to more great history.
