  The amount of times that Americans have told me that the beautiful landscape in the background of my photos is “not my land and that it was stolen” and I need to check my coloniser privilege. <br><br>I then have to tell them I’m from Ireland and this is my land. I didn’t colonise anything.

  My Mum is American and always thought that <i>anyone</i> (as in, everyone) not American, wanted to move to America... until she moved out of America. She was shocked to find out that most people in the rest of the world didn&apos;t actually want to go to America.😂😂😂 <br>Now she finds it funny (and sad) that most Americans still think that way.

  One clear example of &quot;Americans thinking they are the center of the world&quot; is the fact we call them &quot;Americans&quot;, &quot;American&quot; means &quot;someone from America&quot; but the country they are from isn&apos;t named America, it&apos;s called &quot;The United States Of America&quot;. People from South America or any other country in America can&apos;t say &quot;I&apos;m American&quot; because people from the US stole the term and now is used world wide to talk about them. <br>People from Asian say &quot;I&apos;m Asian&quot;<br>People from Europe say &quot;I&apos;m European&quot;<br>But people from 34 countries can&apos;t say which continent they are from cause 1 country decided that term is only theirs.
