We Lab-Tested 8 Antifreeze Brands: You’re Paying $24 for TAP WATER

We pulled eight of the most popular antifreeze and coolant brands off the shelves of major auto parts stores and big-box retailers across the United States—from AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts to O'Reilly and Walmart—and sent them to an independent laboratory for chemical analysis. Between freeze-point depression, reserve alkalinity, and corrosion inhibitor levels, the test results exposed a massive gap between flashy front-label promises and what is actually inside those colorful plastic jugs. The core takeaway is simple: marketing claims like "Universal All Makes, All Models" and the convenience of "50/50 Pre-Diluted" jugs are costing American drivers double or triple what a complete cooling system service should actually run. By treating engine coolant like food coloring rather than vehicle-specific metallurgy and chemistry, drivers routinely overpay for ordinary tap water and bare-minimum additive packages. On this channel, we break down what the money you spend at the parts counter, the service lane, and the pump is actually buying—cutting through packaging hype with real specs, lab data, and cost-per-job comparisons. If you want straight facts without corporate fluff, subscribe to the channel, hit the bell, and drop your own parts-counter experiences in the comments below. Please note: This video is an investigative review of consumer pricing, packaging, and marketing claims; it does not provide professional automotive repair or safety advice, nor does it replace the guidance of a certified mechanic or the factory maintenance schedule in your vehicle's owner's manual. What brand and formula of coolant is sitting on your garage shelf right now—and did you buy concentrate or pay a premium for a jug of pre-mixed water?#Antifreeze #Coolant #AutoParts #CarMaintenance #AutoZone #Walmart #CarCare #FluidFlush #MechanicTips #ConsumerWatchdog
