I think the reason people meme on the "who else will I have ice cream with" line is the same reason that people meme on the Final Fantasy X laughing scene. It's a scene that with no context is just really weird and funny. They make sense in context but taken out of context it becomes a case of "look how cringy/funny this interaction is." When I first witnessed Xion's death as like a 12 or 13 year old kid, I didn't laugh at the line, I was bordering on tears that Roxas was losing his friend.

The Sora perspective glitch is exclusive to this modded version of the game. In the original, the Sora perspective scenes are displayed on the bottom screen of the DS so you can see both Roxas and Sora's actions simultanously.

I think the bug with soras memory in wonderland was because its originally supposed to be on the other screen

16:50 That is an emulator glitch, as on normal DS consoles, the flashbacks to Sora happens on the bottom screen of the DS while you play as Roxas on the top screen. So the issues with Guard Armor later only exists on the version of the game you are playing; not on original DS console.

Also Cura is pretty busted, as the effect lasts for a very long time, meaning that you are getting an absurd amount of health back. If you use Cura, and then camp out the enemy, then you essentially have a full heal on command that can even sometimes last longer than a full health bar. This also works hand-to-hand with limit breaks. It also allows you to act more aggressively (at least in normal non-level 1 playthroughs), as if you get hit, you are likely getting your health assurance back. I do agree with Curaga though: it is probably one of the only spells throughout my many playthroughs of Days that I never use.

The fact that Jesse McCartney voices Roxas and just nails it every time never ceases to amaze. You can tell he cares and I really hope he enjoys it.

Honestly 38:00 is easily my second favorite Roxas delivery in the series. Number 1 is ReCoded's ''It's not a game!''

Magic Breakdown for Days for those not in the know:
-Fire Series
Fire: Good ol Kingdom Hearts classic, the baseline of Magic really. Level ups add tiny amount of damage, a moderate amount of burn chance, but mainly speed range and tracking.
Fira: Massive damage but at the lack of tracking. Level ups add damage, the same burn chance as Fire, and range.
Firaga: a meteor that has a massive explosion but terrible. Levels ups add to the range and gives the same burn chance, but hardly improve damage.
-Notes: Fire and Fira are both great for their own reason, but Firaga feels like a misstep

-Thunder Series
Thunder: fires a row of thunder bolts for moderate damage each. Level ups do not directly improve damage, but add more bolts and jolt chance, adding range and damage by proxy.
Thundara: Clusters lightning around the user for more bolts and jolt chance but less raw damage. Level ups add jolt chance, bolts and an increased radius.
Thundaga: Summons a single bolt on the enemy for the highest damage single magic hit and the highest Jolt chance. Level ups add Damage, Jolt chance, makes the spell faster and increases size.
-Notes Not a single miss in the series, only thing weighing them down is bosses tend to have high Thunder resistance, as such sometimes Fira may do more damage than the theoretically better Thundaga

-Blizzard Series
Blizzard: Pierces and Tracks, doing multiple but very low damage hits and a low freeze chance. Level ups remove damage, but in return gives better tracking and more up time and thus more hits.
Blizzara: Short range shot before dropping to the ground and persisting. Low damage but a MASSIVE Freeze chance. Level ups add Freeze chance, range and duration.
Blizzaga: Creates a mine that explodes for around Fire damage and has an impressive freeze chance. Level ups add freeze chance and range.
Notes: Blizzara is by far the best due to a whopping 90% base freeze chance at level 5 and freeze triples the enemies damage they take for a short time.

-Aero Series
Aero: Standard projectile with a decent air toss chance which also triples damage taken. Level ups add Damage status chance and speed.
Aerora: Fires a persistant tracking projectile which makes up its low damage with massive air toss chance. Level ups add status chance and duration
Aeroga: Makes a whirlwind around self KH2 Firaga style. Level ups add Damage, range and status chance.
Notes: Pretty mediocre from my experience since air toss is harder to utilize than in Recoded. Aeroga and Aerora both have their niches though.

-Cure Series
Cure: Standard KH1 Cure. Level ups add Healing, up to 2 seconds of invincibility, and at gains a projectile reflect at level 5
Cura: Recovers HP every 3 seconds. Even at low level this has double the total healing of a cast of Cure level 5. Level ups add duration
Curaga: Heals a small chunk of HP, then puts down a field that restores large chunks of HP over time. Level ups add size, duration, and shortens time between heals.
Notes: Cure and Cura are both great, Cura leans more into offensive plays while Cure into Defensive. I was gonna dunk on Curaga but each healing tick is 3/4 of a level 5 cure and you get up to 9 of those ticks.

Funny this was uploaded when I started rewatching the older ones; I was gonna wait until I rewatched all of them but this is one of my favorite games in the series so I have to watch immediately it seems👏🏾. Great job as always!

A word of advice for anyone thinking of playing this game, and especially doing a challenge run. This is very much "magic, the game." Make good use of the right spells at the right time, and you can melt through even Proud's boss HP pools. If you just rely on your normal attacks though, you're gonna have a bad time.

Physicals take a lot of investment to work and don't start to even compare to magic's usefulness until late-game with very specific builds, so you're gonna want to get familiar with each spell's use cases. Additionally, many enemies (like the Clay Armor around 15:06) can be forced into a downed/vulnerable state by hitting them with their elemental weakness, or blocking certain attacks, during which time they're not only easier to hit but also have a damage taken multiplier.

Also, statuses are very powerful in this game. And that's on top of the already silly raw power of magic (especially the basic Thunder.)

54:30 This is because despite giving you Oathkeeper and it's combos, You actually still have the abilities of your chosen keyblade underneath it. And remember how your keyblade of choice always staggers staggerable enemies while you're at full health even if you're not using the finisher? Yeah, Pandora Gear+ hard counters Riku.

The flashback part of that Guard armor was more than likely a stylistic choice of the mod creator since those flashbacks always happen on the bottom screen.
