  Another reason the Spruce route airports are so big is that they are all and have been for many years major diversion airports for the airline world. Places like BKSF are paid just to be available, even when officially closed it can be available in 30 minutes.

  Wonderful stuff.<br>The scenery down there looks amazing and flying above those clouds amazing too.<br><br>I remember visiting Biggin Hill Airshow back in late 70s and there was a Chipmunk there with the chance for a trip around the airfield and the option for flying lessons. <br>We were there as a family, carried on to the main exhibition area and did nothing more about it. God I wish I&apos;d been a little older and went for it. <br><br>It was a fateful day. I&apos;ve just looked up the date and it was May 1977. <br>Me and my brother were queuing for a trip in a helicopter. We&apos;d been waiting for ages and decided to walk away and went back to find Mum and Dad. A few minutes later we saw the helicopter take off and fly straight up into a Tiger Moth that was coming in to land. Me an my brother know we would have been on that chopper had we not given up waiting and walked away.<br>It&apos;s been years since I&apos;ve thought about that. Sorry for the doom after such a great video. For some reason it took me right back.
