Also a tip that helped me was finding a build with annotations underneath the items that also explain why said item is good for the hero at that point because learning the why to an item can put you ahead of a lot of players.

You did a tutorial better than the game itself. I have never played any MOBA nor hero shooters in my entire life and tried to get into Deadlock, and the games doesn't teach you ANYTHING in the tutorial.
Thanks for the tips.

I remember you from back in the old overwatch days, you look so much healthier now and seem so much more happy. overwatch killed us all mentally and physically <3

thank you, as an old Dota 2 player this sounds right up my alley. They've had the build browser in dota for years btw, I see a lot of its lineage in this :)

After a day of watching this video, I can confidently say that this helped me get better in matches and not wonder why was I losing every match I got into.

I haven't been able to follow 100% of the guide but I can definitely feel that I'm doing more on matches and actually get towers and enemies down.

Thank you for this guide.

Definitely 1 upping Deathy's 2026 guide. His wasn't bad, but it felt like every 30 seconds he was saying "don't worry about this, just play whatever you want and try stuff out."
Hero picking? "Just try everything." Laning? "Oh, just play and you'll learn." Micro/Macro? "Don't worry, it'll come with experience." Movement? "Just play and you'll get better."
Like bro what's the point of watching a guide video if every aspect is just answered with "just play and you'll learn." Most people are trying to learn BEFORE they play.
This is a much better video for new players looking to actually learn a lot about the game before jumping in.
