When they first interview him, Wahlberg's character is testing him. Can he deal with stress? Intense stress.

Billy didn't put Madeline in danger intentionally. He handed her a letter personally outside her office, with instructions in case anything happened to him. And he mailed the recording to Sullivan separately. He didn't know they lived together, or that she would hear the recording. And she only listened because she saw Billy's name on the return address.

Leo's message to the therapist was to give the info to Mark Walberg. That's how he ended up there at the end.

'The Departed' won four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director (Martin Scorsese), Best Film Editing, and Best Adapted Screenplay. It was Scorsese's first Oscar following five previous losses. Some critics considered 'The Departed' winning Best Director as a Lifetime Achievement Oscar for Scorsese.

More Jack: Chinatown, As Good As It Gets, The Last Detail, Five Easy Pieces, Batman, Terms of Endearment, Wolf, and The Bucket List w/Morgan Freeman. These are some of his best.

I saw this flick opening weekend. The reaction to the elevator scene was an all timer.

Loosely based on the life of Whitey Bulger, this is also an adaptation of a Hong Kong crime drama.

This was the movie that finally got Scorsese his Best Director Oscar after many previous nominations that didn't win. I personally think he should have won with "Goodfellas".
