I love how everyone tends to forget that the Blade IP literally stems from the Marvel Universe.
Ergo there's literally just vampires running around as a species in Marvel, but they're seldom seen outside of Blade's stories.

Michael Corvin is a direct descendant of Alexander's 3rd son, who was mortal; that is why he is a viable hybrid.

I can't help it, but I'll always love Paul Rubens' (aka Pee Wee Herman's) WAAAYY overdramatic death scene, in "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"! 😂

The funny thing about Rice's vampires is that the dark gift itself is nothing more than spreading Amel's thirst among the breed. In the queen of the damned book, Maharet and Kayman tell how the first two had near-endless thirst that became manageable with spreading the dark gift around. Leaving aside that age brings more than just power, but resistance. The Elders, which is to say Maharet, Mekare, Kayman and Marius can block Akasha's pyrokinesis temporarily, and can survive sunlight exposure for short intervals. And Lestat, having drunk Akasha's blood survived exsanguination at Claudia's hands, and the fire she used against him later.

The problem with Sinners theory is that the Irish were treated as marginally better people than slaves and were not colonizers like the French, Spanish or English. Ireland is however where vampire mythology stories were originally written for the Western World.

Bro is weaving in Vampire the Masquerade terminology throughout to explain stuff. It's funny yet satisfying lol

Bill never glamored Sookie’s grandma in True Blood, or the books that show is (very loosely) based on. He does glamor an older woman after feeding on her but Adele Stackhouse is long dead when this happens.

3 things I have to add real quick is for the Sinners universe is not just that it's a single bite transformation but ...the SPEED of the infection (5-15 mins MAX) the night started with only 3 vampires (Remmick, Bert, & Joan) and before dawn (SPOILERS !!!!) a WHOLE CLUB WORTH of vampires which makes it terrifying, because in some vampire universes (ex. Blade) vampirism from a single bite takes a few days but....one noted thing(SPOILERS!!!!) In the Blade universe you CAN be cured of vampirism ...one of the characters in the 1st film who made EDTA she made a cure for HERSELF... AND strengthen the serum Blade uses to control his thirst . And in the True Blood universe even as powerful as the vampires were one thing even the OLDEST of vampires were vulnerable to: Witchcraft, in particular, Necromancy which was(SPOILERS!!!) A HUGE plot point in the late 3rd early 4th season
