  As a person who has been knitting for many years, this movie is an invitation to start again. 😊 I heard about the fishermen's sweaters in the Netherlands, which were uniform colours but with knitted patterns, the patterns were specific for certain erea's, often families. Might it happen a fisherman fell overboard no longer to be found, and he washed ashore later, he could be identified by his sweater. The wool would last long times in cold water. Not a nice story, but those days were harder. Thank you for posting, I 'm going to look for my needles. 😁

  I visited the Faroe Islands in 2018 with Rowan Tree Tours, knitting themed tours all over the world. The Faroes and its people are beautiful.

  You all know of course that wool is fabulous in the garden! &nbsp;It will break down in time adding nitrogen to the soil; it can be used in areas that are soggy wet to absorb the water making walking easier and drier, it is a great mulch to hold moisture in around plants and keep them cooler during heat waves and also protecting the roots from frost. &nbsp;PLEASE don&apos;t ever burn wool!! &nbsp;Does Faroese wool fet well? &nbsp;there are possibilities for insulating as well .....mattresses, chair cushions.....the possibilities are many, many, many. &nbsp;Thank you for a wonderful documentary!! &nbsp;Keep going!

  What a fantastic documentary! You can feel the warmth of the people and their love for craft and the place they live. And the visuals? Stunning!
