A bit off subject but fun fact. I am 61 years old, and I remember pulling a container of Morton Salt out of the pantry and the price tag on the top read 7 cents and another for 9 cents. Yes .07 and .09. Back when coinage had real value. I remember hand churning ice cream almost every other weekend and using the rock salt on the ice and puttig a big piece of that salt on my tongue

we use redmond here. Started on our dairy farm, you put redmond out for the cows along side morton cattle salt and the cows will ignore the morton. We just open a new 50 pound bag for the cows and fill up for the house

One caution is that along with the nutritional elements in more "natural" salts you will find heavy metals like lead, cadmium, mercury, etc, along with microplastics. One Australian lab rejected a batch of pink salt because it contained arsenic beyond the maximum permitted.

Two brands that have tested clean of heavy metals are Diamond Crystal Kosher and Maldon Sea salt .

The first time I tried Redmond real salt I could really taste it. I never in my life tasted salt except the saltiness. I really love it.

On the Netflix TV show '' Orange Is The New Black'' There was a character who was a prisoner who mentioned Mardon Salt. She was a wealthy inmate who parodied Martha Stewart who in real life was an inmate at the real federal prison.

I use Morton for most needs, but also use Himalayan Pink Salt in moderation because of the high mineral content

Redmond's is the best, it is not found in water but is mined from ancient seas that dried up, so no worries about water contamination.
