I hit them all when I was there. It was raining and I had had a major ankle surgery a few months before, BUT I MADE IT! I had to rest the next day but I wasn't going to miss Nippori. It was glorious. I immediately got home and started a quilt from the fabric I bought.

I went to Nippori twice on my Japan trip last year and had such a good time. I still regret not buying a black corduroy that was on clearance. I went back for it and it was gone! I bought several fabrics (cotton florals, plain linen, a gorgeous navy tweed and a blanket-like fleece), a gorgeous embroidery book, a Japanese pattern and various other things. I've made a couple dresses from the fabrics, so far!

I'm going to Tokyo, Kyoto and Seoul in a few weeks time, I sew garments, do you think it's better to shop fabric in Tokyo or Seoul considering the prices? Is it cheaper to shop in Dongdaemun?

Yazawaya Kamata is the best place to shop in Tokoyo for all things sewing .... but I am there for 7 days...I am a keen sewist and if I was in Japan for only 2 ish days I would spend my time more wisely than fabric shopping. I know you love sewing ....as I am the same but please take a reality check .... 2ish days in Japan can be spent doing all things Japanese .. I would NOT go purposely shopping fot fabric if my time in Japan was limited....
