Founded in 1971, the American Livebearer Association (ALA) is dedicated to the appreciation, breeding, conservation, and responsible keeping of livebearing fishes from around the world. For over 50 years, we've connected aquarists through education, research, and a shared passion for preserving these remarkable species. Whether you're new to the hobby or an experienced breeder, the ALA offers a welcoming community and valuable resources. This channel features species profiles, care guides, conservation updates, convention coverage, fish room tours, breeder interviews, educational presentations, and aquarium tips. Learn about the ALA's Breeders Award Program, our Species Conservation Award Program (SCAP), and our partnership with the North American Goodeid Working Group to help preserve rare and endangered livebearers. Subscribe and help us conserve these incredible fishes for future generations.
