I'm Sal Whitaker. I've been fixing cars for over forty years. Twelve of them inside a dealership service department, and thirty running my own shop right here in East Tennessee. I started this channel because I got tired of watching good people get scared into repairs they never needed. Somebody walks into a shop with a funny noise and walks out with a twelve-hundred-dollar quote — and half the time, it's for stuff their car won't need for years, if ever. So here's what I do here. I show you what's actually going on under the hood. What that noise really is. Which repairs matter and which ones are just padding on an estimate. How to talk to a mechanic so you don't get taken.
