Once Upon a Castle

We left a small apartment in Los Angeles to restore a 17th-century château in the French countryside. We wanted one of the big, grand ones. We instead bought the one we could heat. It came with a forest, a river, two outbuildings, and a chapel that has been standing for over four hundred years. It needs nearly everything, and we're doing it slowly, as much as we can ourselves, and raising two kids here while we do. This channel is the whole life, not just the building: - Room-by-room restoration (including the parts we get wrong) - The chapel, the bread oven, the forest, the river - Family life in the French countryside - Chickens, gardens, and feeding a family off this land If you've ever looked at a grand French estate and wondered about the smaller, stranger, more livable and bespoke version of that dream, you're in the right place.
