In 1972 Honda put a 1.5-litre engine through America's emissions test with no catalytic converter, at a time when Detroit was insisting it could not be done. Detroit bought one, took it apart, and could not explain it. This channel is about engines that beat better-funded engines, and the engineers who had to sit in a room afterwards and work out how. The small-block. The 2JZ. The Beetle. The rotary. The ones that shouldn't have won. I'm not a mechanic. I read service manuals, SAE papers, engineering histories and company archives — and every source is listed under the video. No brand loyalty here. Only what the metal actually did.
