Named By Italy

Every Italian surname started somewhere: a trade, a village, a father, a conquest, or a child left at a convent door. Most families forgot the story. The records didn't. Named by Italy goes back to the original Italian sources, parish registers, notarial records and the oldest surviving lists, and tells the story of one name at a time, from its first written appearance to the people who carry it in America today. Tell us your surname in the comments. The next videos are built out of that comment section. You were named by Italy.
